Newly acquired Connor Yau
Also announced was the acquisition of (now former) Chicago Steel defenseman Connor Yau. The 5' 10 defenseman scored 2 goals, adding 12 assists in his 46-game 2013-14 campaign for the Steel. The 19 year old is also committed to attend Dartmouth University at the completion of his USHL career.

To acquire the services of Yau, the Phantoms will give up a conditional 8th-round draft pick in next year's draft.

Unfortunately, with every roster finalization, teams are forced to say goodbye to some players. Three players did not make the Phantoms' final cut this season.

F Ludvig Larsson and D Chris MacMillian both made the preseason roster after impressing the coaching staff during the Phantoms' tryouts in June of this year. Larsson, a 5'11" 165lb centerman, is a native of Malmo, Sweden who had great success in the SuperElit league there. MacMillian got a lot of positive attention for his fantastic 3 goal, 19 assist 2013-14 season with the Smith Falls Bears of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).

Zach Evancho
Also leaving the team is F Zach Evancho. The Derby, NY native spent the past two seasons as a Phantom and part of another. In that time he showed great growth as a player, putting up respective point totals of 2, 11 and 17 from 2012-2014. He finishes his Youngstown Phantoms playing career having played 108 games for the team.
